I have the new and ultra slippery Otterbox XT defender with MagSafe for the iPhone 13 Pro Max and I got to say it’s the first defender that I have serious doubts regarding camera protection not to mention it’s very slippery.

im wondering if anyone has the new iPhones with a case that provides more of a lip for camera protection as the lip on the defender is barely above the cameras.

to put this into context my iPhone 12 Pro Max in the regular defender still ended up with a hairline crack on one of the cameras though I’m shocked that ever happened but that’s why I’m concerned.

Nillkin CamShield Pro Case for iPhone 13 Pro on Amazon might be what you are looking for.

The cover design is good but it is a china brand and the design in general looks very unprofessional. It even has “100x space zoom” wording on a iPhone case design pic. I don't expect it has any real shock protection.

I am wondering if the best protection for these huge cameras might just be a slim flexible case combined with something like a popit or wallet ( that acts as a lip during a straight on fall)

Very rigid sides + flimsy plastic back + soft layer + rigid shallow camera ring… im invisioning a situation during a fall in which the flimsy plastic back flexes and actually transfers energy to the camera area. And with the back flexing and shallow cut out? You dont want a case absorbing energy and it seems like this setup forces that during a straight in fall. Just seems like a bad combo.

And unfortunately i dont know if a HUGE lip is an ideal option as id imagine at some point it would interfere with camera performance (diminsh light?)

Coming from iPhone 13 Pro Max, I have this case, but seriously thinking about sending it back to Amazon. I love the camera cover, but the case is very slippery to hold. The side of the case is fine, but the way the back is designed is not great to hold. I’ve dropped my iPhone a few times using this case for the past 3 days. I wished they had designed a different pattern or make it smooth on the back for a better grip.

Don't expect too much from a Chinese brand

I cannot find a case with higher bump protection than other, 13 pro or pro max bump is just too high.
