Hi,

I was warned a couple of days ago of possible calls related to bank fraud.
A solution in such case was pitched in: airplane mode plus turning the
phone off.

I received this morning a suspicious call. I hanged up and then I proceeded
to erase the bank application. Consequently, as mentioned before, I rushed to
set the phone in airplane mode.

Since the phone did not allow to be turned off, I looked up the different categories
under 'settings', and chose 'privacy & security' among them. Finally, I clicked on
the 'lockdown mode' option. I turned it on in phone. The phone was reseted and it
turned itself off.

Hopefully, I am not being cyberattacked or similar.

I also hope to be able to download the bank application without any fears of
being cyberattacked. I hope the phone can be turned off. I press
the only right hand botton on the phone for some seconds and this doesn't
give me the option to turn it off.

Yhank you, kind regards,

igmolinav : )!!!

You need to press and hold the side button AND either volume button to turn your phone off.

There’s also several other ways to turn off your phone:
  • Settings > General > Shut Down
  • Control Center (tap and hold the power button in the upper-right corner)
  • Tell Siri to turn off iPhone

Also, having turned on Lockdown Mode you should read about what it is and does, as you likely don't need or even want to keep it enabled. You may start wondering why your phone no longer works as you expect it to, and not realize it's because of Lockdown Mode:
