iPhone 14 Plus opening problem

Recent iPhone 14 Plus, doesn't always open lock screen once my face has been recognized. I retry a couple of times to make sure my opening gesture starts from low enough on the screen, but that doesn't help. So screen closes after that. Then when I press the wake/power button, I may or may not be able to get the phone to open. I've tried rebooting the phone after this happens, but it will happen again. Otherwise phone and touch response is fine, just this intermittent problem.

Any ideas on what I might do about it? Anyone else experiencing this?
