iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max same exact camera issue

Both my wife’s phone iPhone 14 pro and my 14 Pro max have the same issue. When we are filming content with movement the camera has the hardest time dealing with things coming close to the phone. Like a leash for example. Dog walks are normal activities for us (and our 12’s didnt have this problem) where while walking the leash comes from off screen ie dog comes from the grass back to in front you and the leash comes in to camera view. The moment that happens the camera goes blurry and doesnt fix itself. I currently have a commercially available crystal clear lens protector that covers the entire lens setup vs the 12s we had individual camera lens covers. My wifes doesnt have one at all she lost it, and both have issues focusing up close.
