I switched from a big Android phone to an iPhone 14 Pro Max and a lot of the Pro Max cases have a much much narrower band of material surrounding the lightning port (both front and back of port) that digs into your pinky finger while you're holding the phone. I'm guessing this is the result of iPhone cases having much thinner backs to ensure magsafe compatibility? The heavier weight of the iPhone 14 Pro Max also makes the issue with case edge sharpness around the port cutouts more acute.

Are there cases that don't cut into the pinky finger as much? Or are there other popular workarounds to address the issue?

I hold my phone the same way, balancing it on my pinkie and don’t have any issues with this case: ESR Classic Kickstand Case Compatible with iPhone 14 Pro Max Case, Clear Case with Stand, Military-Grade Protection, Built-in Camera Ring Stand, Scratch-Resistant Acrylic Back, Clear https://a.co/d/bgeIZIy

What case are you using now? I’ve been using the Apple Leather Case and a Spigen Mag Armor Case and not experiencing cutting in my pinky.

I'm using the Spigen Rugged Armor. Checking the Spigen site, the base of the Mag Armor does look *slightly* less sharp. How is MagSafe fo ryou with Mag Armor?

EDIT: The Optik Armor looks good, but appears to have magsafe issues.
