I just found another issue after updated to 16.1.1. First I didn't received a group text that was sent to me yesterday afternoon until this morning. And now my phone is dinging 2 times after I get a message. It sounds once and if I don't read the message right away, a couple of seconds after it sounds again for the same message... this phone is making me insane

it should be on repeat once or never? this never happened before I did the 16.1.1 update and I never change the settings
It should be on ‘never’ if you don’t want the 2nd notification.
funny is never change the settings and today for the first time Im getting the notifications twice. By default the phone is on "Once" so I don't know what is happening... never had that issue on my 13 pro max
On the default setting it notifies again two minutes after the first notification if the phone isn't being used and it isn't marked as read.
My guess would be you were either using the phone or missed one of the notifications in the past.
