Hi Guys,

Just wondering if this bug of the island going crazy has been reported. It is not only annoying but difficult to use the phone when it constantly does this and makes that haptic feedback noise.

I’m also having random haptic feedback on my phone. Looks like a decent amount of people are also reporting this on Reddit. Is this a software or hardware issue.

This is driving me crazy. The island keeps pulsating and can feel the haptic feedback but it keeps wanting to scroll up like when you tap on the top of your screen to scroll up. Super frustrating.

If none of you are experiencing this, would you suggest that my device is faulty then?

That was an Apple TV show that was playing. In this example I had used the iPhone as an Apple Remote. To replicate it try being in a bright environment

I’ve been having the same issue for a while. It’s like it completely freaks out, requiring me to lock and then unlock the phone to solve it.

Exactly right. I just wish they could fix it. Have you noticed it happens a lot in a bright environment and it starts pulsating? Then when it does try open a webpage and scroll down and it should bring it to the top

Not specifically in bright environments, no. I’ve also had the screen go flickering like crazy for no reason (also requiring a lock/unlock). Interestingly my wife and I have seen the same crazy flickering occasionally on the Apple Watch S7 when getting activity medals, too. Definitely some weird bugs going around.

I do always keep my phone on silent. Unsure if that has any effect. Generally happens in bright environments with that annoying pulsating haptic feedback. I’m glad I was able to capture the issue above

I also noticed it more frequently in bright environments. When I'm out in the yard and the sun is shining it happens more frequently.

It clearly is a bigger issue than reported in this thread. I think most people don’t realise it’s happening and just lock their screen and try again in different lighting.

I’m not sure what is going on with your phone and it would annoy the heck out of me. I can assure you I’ve never seen my phone behave like that.

It drives me crazy can almost replicate it every time I go outside. I never had this issue on iPhone 13 Pro Max. I can only assume it’s a hardware fault then.

I can say I've had my fair share of bugs with iOS 16 but this isn't one of them. Take your phone to the Apple Store and have them look at it

I tend to see this when I unlock my phone occasionally and my AirPods battery life dynamic island flashes up over and over again, along with the haptic buzzing. It’s not a hardware bug. It’s just software.
