Had iPhones many years and didn’t had this happen,
Yes night is off as always and was using in lowest brightness setting. Been using it for a day and half now and nothing happen till just few mins ago

Reading an white page and stuff , everything was normal white bright but after few mins whole body sides around iPhone top & bottom , left and right say half inches are orange tinted while middle screen part is still bright white.
Weirdly if I turn brightness up all the way everything goes back to white, but when lowered brightness it goes back to orange . Compare with other 14 pro maxs in family and they’re normal white while mine is sitting like this. smh
Anyone else happen?
Orange tint stay no matter apps or restarting or dark mode on or off.
Reseted whole phone once’s and still same thing

Me too! Only in the low light but it’s very noticeable one darkroom like before sleep! Very annoying

Hey! So, last year I bought the iPhone 13 pro max and guess what….Apple is at it again with its yearly uniformity issues. Trust me man. You either end up returning it or you end up getting used to it. I kept mine because I love the 120hz display.

I had same issue with my 12 Pro max display so I get my phone changed (into another 12 PM), and it is helped a little bit but there was still noticeable color differences mostly in dark mode in settings where menu was more green than gray. It was main reason I upgraded to 13 pro Max which screen is perfect, white is white and gray is gray, no color differences at all.

Anyway I ordered 14 PM (i got good trade-in deal - still waiting when it becomes available on shop) but as I seeing on photos over internet and in video of Max Tech where is showing both phones side by side from angle and 14PM display is noticeable more yellow-ish which reminds me 12PM display, I maybe cancel my order.

I really like deep purple color (is my go to color) but I'm afraid of that display.

That’s a shame. I almost upgraded to the 14 pro max but it seems the screen tech hasn’t been changed. You get used to the colors but it really sucks.

we got 5 14pro maxs same size and color deep purple For the whole family. Mine is the only one showing this. I was able to snag an pick up for same color & size tomorrow at an store so I’ll be heading down to return this and get that. Hopefully it be better smh as it’s not closeby store. Trip cost me 4 hrs drive for a round trip.

Wow. Best of luck! Keep us posted! Playing the OLED panel lottery with Apple is no easy feat. It requires time and patience.

if only apple would calibrate the displays similar to samsung. Ive had the S21 with the same oled panel and no issues at any brightness since its calibrated from factory.

It looks like it’s the exact same s*** as last year. I went through multiple phones due to this but kept the very first 13PM, as it was the better one LOL

What a pain the ass every year. I hope next year they finally get rid of the pill and just do a hole punch or something and they are also forced to change the display type or something. These uniformity issues are insane for a $1300 device.

I’ve got the same problem on the 14 Pro.

Interestingly enough it’s something I’ve only just noticed and I’m the kind of guy who would have noticed this off the bat. The display wasn’t like this at the weekend but this morning this is how it looks.

Comparison pic with my 12 Pro Max.

This is just the nature of OLED (or at least Apple’s OLED), and it’s been happening with every OLED iPhone ever made.

I went through 4 XS Maxes, 5 11 Pro Maxes, a couple of 13 Pro Maxes, and this year I got a 14 Pro Max that is good enough so I’m keeping it and not bothering.

For me it was absolutely worth returning and re-buying until I got a decent one, but it was always a matter of “good enough” and never perfect.

I agree with you on the Apple OLED front. My Series 4 watch had uniformity issues down one side with a green tinge to the screen.

Having the same issue with my 14 Pro Max. Colour uniformity with greys is really off on my handset. Got an appointment booked at Apple. Image below is garbage but it shows the problem.

dont think you will get any help. Ive tried with the 13pm and they said it couldnt be produced at their store so they wont be helping any further. I just returned it since I was within the 14 days.

My 14pm now has the same issue as yours but much less. Starting to live with it as it is only really low brightness

Which image did you set as background?
mine were standard white background thats available inside wallpapers default app. you can also google 5% test on youtube or click this
i also did on this video and can tell on dark room with 0% brightness with same effect as wallpapers had.

i had since gotten lucky an able to snag pickup for same model phone on apple store so drove 4 hrs to return this and pickup new one. so far no issues hopefully stay same.

If no help at the apple store, just return it and buy another one. Better than being unhappy with the one you have now.
