A few days ago I decided to get the iPhone 14 Pro and liking it already.

I got it from Europe unlocked and WITH a physical SIM tray.

I don’t know if this was a good or bad thing to get with a SIM tray, but I’m afraid if I go to the USA then they will have trouble activating it since the iPhone 14 USA models are eSIM only.

So I’m afraid they will not have any physical SIM card to put in my phone.

Unless, since it’s a dual SIM, meaning it can also be activated using eSIM as well. But I rather MUCH PREFER to use a physical SIM.

Why would you assume there aren’t any SIM cards available? There are many, many phones that still use a SIM card.

Okay 👍 perfect.

And the sales guy even wrote on my receipt “UNLOCKED - NO RESTRICTIONS “

European 14 Pro models come with one physical SIM tray and one e-SIM. They are dual SIM phones so tho speak. Go to Settings/General/About and scroll down, you will see Physical SIM and its IMEI, and underneath you will see Available SIM with IMEI2 which is the e-SIM.

So you can use the e-SIM in USA if you wish without a problem.

You got the superior 14 pro IMO

probably will sell very easily when/if ready to resell in the US

Not a fan of being strong armed into e-SIM, but not a deal breaker for Me in the end with my US 14PM

I’m against eSIM myself. Much rather to use the physical SIM. I guess Apple has messed up on this decision especially for people who travel a lot from the USA to other countries.

I’m glad I got my iPhone 14 Pro from Europe just because it has the physical SIM tray.

Using my USA 14 PM dual esim device currently in the UK. Pay as you go esims are virtually nonexistent, however pay monthly is available no issue. Currently on an O2 esim , got it activated within minutes via QR code when I arrived here last month.

It’s easy to activate an eSIM and there are a lot of online videos out there on the activation steps.
