"iPhone 14" was the eighth most searched term around the world on Google in 2022, beaten by other terms such as Wordle, the World Cup, Ukraine, and the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

The revelation was made in Google's annual release of its "Year in Search," showing the most searched-for term in different categories, including news, people, movies, and more. "iPhone 14" was ranked on the list of top 10 for general searches, and according to Google Trends, searches for the term logically spiked in September when the new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro series were announced.

In more specific terms, "Dynamic Island" was one of the most searched follow-up terms for "iPhone 14," despite being only available on the higher-end iPhone 14 Pro. Other high-ranking related searches included Deep Purple, "iPhone 14 pre-order," and "iPhone 14 price."

I hate my 14 pro max due to the "dynamic island" what a pointless feature and it never leaves your view like the other notch did... Apple is dropping off.. I will say I'm slightly liking my watch a bit more..

I don't notice the island anymore on my Pro, I will sometimes still see it when I’m watching a video in landscape but not as much anymore

15 years in, still the most coveted consumer electronics device, quintessentially aspirational at every latitude and longitude.

Can’t innovate anymore my dynamic hindquarters.
How do we know the search wasn't "is iPhone 14 worth it" or "where is my delayed iPhone 14" or "is dynamic island worth it."

I have found the iPhone 14 pro to be pretty iterative. Without "dynamic island," which really doesn't change my user experience, it's barely an iPhone 13 Pro S. The vast majority of people I know who have used an iPhone 14 Pro have a version of this POV.

A lot of people Googling "Is the iPhone 14 the same as the iPhone 13?" and "Why you shouldn't buy the iPhone 14"
