I have a 14Pro attached to a magnetic microscope attachment (see image). The issue is, that this blocks the LIDAR emitter, which sometimes results in problems when focusing on an image.

I was wondering how is this solved on regular 16s. Is the focusing entirely through the lens or is utrawide also used in some way to facilitate focusing?

If somebody comes up with the same issue.

Regular 16s (and probably previous non-Pro models as well) do a marvelous job focusing through the lens. Ultrawide lens being covered is non-issue.

This pretty much solved the problem for me. I replaced 14Pro with a regular 16 and it works like a charm.

Any kind of attachment that covers the LIDAR emitter, wreaks havoc in the phone's focusing abilities and focusing often fails or takes forever.
