So... if the excellent and FREE 'Double Take' app can dual record front and rear camera's simultaneously on my iPhone 15 PM and my wife's iPhone 16 PM - in 4K at 60fps - Then why isn't it natively supported on iOS 26?

Come on Apple. I want to love you but software differentiation when the hardware can clearly do it absolutely stinks. Perhaps this is something they will enable later on after all the upgraders are done upgrading to the iPhone 17 line.

As to why I want this, I want to use it in 3rd party apps like Harry's LapTimer Pro which only uses the native camera options.

Because center stage is able to keep you in the frame as you naturally move the phone to capture the back camera.

I tried the double take app during the 4th of July this year to capture fireworks + my kids reaction. I gave up because as my kid moved I had to awkwardly move the camera to keep both in frame.

Whether you like it or not, before center stage it just wasn’t a good experience.
