Just wanted to get thoughts from other iPhone 15 pro users. Had my 15 pro for 2 years and my battery health was down to 84% and after the IOS 26 update, battery drain was really obvious. So I just got a battery replacement at the Genius Bar and only been a day now. My 15pro is still warm. I’m hoping the battery is better after the new replacement.

Anyone else go through a similar situation? Is the warm feeling on the phone common as well?

Thanks!

My 15 Pro rarely gets warm to be honest. Now down to 91%, and surprisingly ios 26 has been smooth and snappy, and battery life is pretty normal. I am trying to get a battery replacement with Apple also, had an appointment yesterday at 15:30 hrs but they said they couldn't do same day service so I left, but they said can bring my phone any time for next 7 days as they kept my battery on reserve.

My battery on 15 pro is 88%, but feels worse. Apple won’t replace it unless it’s below 80%, even if I pay for it. You didn’t get that limitation from Apple? Maybe worth trying again.

No, they said they ideally recommend to change the battery below 80%, but I said to change it now as Im getting less duration in between charge (common sense i know), and they said thats fine as im paying for it (£95). I think that 80% limitation is for Apple care.

That's not true. They won't replace it under Apple Care but if you are willing to pay they will have to do it even if your battery is at 99%.

I had the same situation, also 84% battery health on my iPhone 15 Pro. One service center was willing to replace the battery for a fee (even though I have AppleCare+) but would take 3 weeks (I am in the Philippines, same day service is not available).

Even though it's technically still within Apple's limit of 80%, it felt also much worse. I was draining about 15% per hour if I was using it for light tasks. Was draining ~7% per hour just being literally idle. I remember when it was new, I would still drain around 10% per hour in everyday use.

I decided to upgrade to the 17 Air. Even though it has a reputation for bad battery, it drains about 4% per hour idle, 7% to 10% in use depending on what I am doing, usually closer to the 7%.

I am sure in a year or year and a half, the Air is going to degrade though the way the 15 Pro did, but for now it feels like a worthy upgrade.
