iPhone 15 Pro Max iPhone 15 Pro Max Charging Adaptor?

I bought iPhone 15 PM natural titanium 256GB, i have 5W and 20W charging adaptor with me, on youtube i saw 5W adaptor get too much hot while charging the phone from it, i dont want fast charging at all, so 20W charging adaptor will fast charge the phone? or should i buy another low Watt charger?

i use my original 5w apple charger (and have since having iphone 13pm) on a 15pm now and charge over night every couple of days, the phone doesnt heat up at all doing it this way , my old phone had battery health of 96% after 19months (not sure if to do with slow charging or luck)

not sure how much the plug heats up but its been ok for 2 years now.

this is what i figured out, i bought XS MAX since it was launched and used 5W charger and the battery health was perfect till 18 months then i used a heavy charger (i dont know the Watts as all the description was faded on it? and battery health started dropping fast, and same goes with my M1 Macbook Pro, now my XS MAX battery health is at 87% from 2 years as i am using 5W charger, now what i understood is fast charging degrading the battery health, and about the heat up issue i saw a youtube checking all the chargers with 15 Pro Max and shows that 5W charger is like fire if he charging 15 Pro Max through it (not the phone, only charger is heating up) so i was worried about it. Can you please check the charger while charging 15 Pro Max and let us know?
and if 5W chager is good then i have to buy a USB A to USB C cable

Tbh the "fear" of fast charging is completely overblown in this forums... I charge my 14P with the MacBooks 140W charger (and MagSafe when on the go) since launch day and its battery health sits at 99%.

can you please lighten up your charging habits? like how frequently you charge and do you charge to 100% or only 80%

I usually plug it in to the 140w wall charger when going to bed, let it sit there until I get up (charging to 100%) and then using it normally throughout the day until it nearly dies in which case I either use a MagSafe charger or the MagSafe battery pack when on the go.

And then rinse and repeat.

Batteries are consumables. Regardless how fast (or slow) you charge them, they'll degrade. And charging is one part of the degradation, but usage, storage and charging frequency are also very important.

I'm using the 20W, 35W and 90W chargers depending which one I have around (especially now with usb c, I just plug it in any)

Regarding heating during charging, it's not only because it's charging, but might also be because iCloud starts syncing (if you have wifi only), updates starting downloading and so on. There are specific processes that triggers during charging. And if you put a 5W charger, 5W might not be enough for these at times (meaning that the battery will drain and charge in the same time, which isn't good at all)

I have used the original 5 watt Apple charger for all of my iPhones for years. All of my ProMax phones have charged just fine. All one needs to do it get a USB-a to USB-C cable and enjoy heat free charging. It is not just a rumor that heat is bad for rechargeable batteries.
