So I‘ve seen this video on the action button and there was a shot where the status bar was shown with the silent icon in it. As someone who always has their phone on silent, I sincerely hope they do not display this icon all the time. That would be so annoying. Hopefully it will not display if you use the action button for anything but the silence mode and activate that from Control Center instead.

This is annoying! My phone is on silent 99.999999999% of the time. I have flipped the ringer switch on, maybe 5 times this year.

Just create a personal focus that will fulfill your needs and instead of the bell icon you'll have a "person" icon on the opposite side of the screen :D

Why would you expect a different outcome (displaying and not displaying the icon) from the same action?
It's just me hoping there is a way to set it to permanently be silent and not have that icon there all the time. The iPad does not do this either. It's not important enough to show it on screen at all times.

I saw this in some review videos and I was hoping this wasn't the case.

I keep my phone in silent all the time... but I don't need an icon reminding me all the time.

Oh well... time to find some silent ringtones!

🤣
