iPhone 15 Pro Max iPhone 15 ProMax Apple Pay issue?

My new iPhone 15 Pro Max works with NFC-reader apple pay maybe half the time. When it fails, I am able to use my Apple Watch with success. Anyone else experiencing spotty Apple Pay with their iPhone 15 Pro?

It's difficult to compare those two scenarios, because there are more variables than just the device. NFC depends highly on the placement of the device next to the reader.

I remember this one issue where some brands of cars' wireless charging docks fried the NFC chip in the iPhone 15... maybe this is related to that?

Ok, I'll just say that I never had an issue with my iPhone 13PM, and that my technique for using the phone and reader has not changed.
