When viewing photos on my 15 pro, it does this weird 'trace' around random parts of the photo. What is the point of it, and how do I turn it off? I don't even know what apple calls it, or I would google 'how to turn it off'. #photos #iPhonePhotos
It's a feature called Lift the Subject that was introduced in iOS 16. You can't disable it. The only time it does it automatically is when you have the photo in info mode like you do in your video. If you view the photo in normal mode it won't do the outline of what it thinks is the subject unless you long press on that area of the photo.
Thanks. I do 'cut outs' with remove.bg or photoshop. The internet says:
"Continue to touch the subject, then with another finger, open a document in another app and drag the subject into the document." With another finger, open a document? 😄😄
Yes. For example, press down on the highlighted subject in your photo with your left thumb until it gets lifted out of the photo, then continue operating your phone with your right index finger while continuing to press your left thumb against the screen. You can move your thumb near the edge of the screen to get it out of the way.
This way you can open another app like Notes and drop the lifted image into a document.
