After a week-ish of using my phone, I’ve realized that I won’t be using the touch capabilities of the camera button. It’s easier for me to use the touch screen to tweak settings.

So now I want a case that will cover the camera button with a proper button. Something just like the wake button. I don’t want a cutout or a flush area, just a simple button that launches the camera app and takes pictures.

I doubt this will be made but I can dream.

Sorry, I cant suggest a case, but you can disable the light press gesture so that the Camera Control will launch the camera and take a photo, but wont allow you to access the other functionality.

The Apple Silicone cases have a button over the Camera Control button, and I believe there are a few (very few) aftermarket cases which do also.

You can go into Settings > Accessibility > Camera Control > Light Press, toggle "Show Adjustments" off, and the Light Press won't do anything.

I’m not a fan of the Apple silicon cases and the beats case is slippery. I’ve got a spigen case on it now and it’s fine, but the cutout is just uncomfortable. I’m hoping that a better case will become available.

The Spigen Ultra Hybrid T has a button over the camera control which should be more comfortable than the cutout. I haven’t seen a case that covers the camera control as if it isn’t there.

Thank you. I'll give it a try. I think I'll still prefer a plain old button, but they might not ever exist.

I wonder if case manufacturers will be courageous enough to start doing this exactly. Just covering the button as if it wasn't there. And then marketing it :).

Had the 16 Pro for a week... the button is something I would easily forget about.

Spigen Ultra Hybrid T has the button over the camera control button. About $30 on Amazon.

Supcase has one too, but I read it’s not quite as responsive as the Spigen design.

I am searching for this case daily. Will post it here if I find anything. following this thread.

The 16 Pro Max and 14 Pro Max fit in the same UAG Monarch Pro case.

The same is probably true for the 16 non pro, non max.

Try a UAG Monarch Pro for the 14.

I have both pro max phones and both cases mentioned above. Had I realized the case I had fit the 16PM perfectly, other than covering the camera putting, I would not have bought a new case and saved myself $100.

The 15PM I had fitted into a 14PM case fine as well; so is this to say that the 16PM will fit in 14 or 15PM cases?

If so I may send the 16PM UAG case back that I've ordered and go for the 15PM one I previously owned...

I've got the Spigen T case here (as well as the Armor case), so I'm covered in that sense

I bet it will.

I've been tempted to send the 16 case back and just use the one from my 14. Would save me $100. In really should do it. It I kinda like the colour on this one better.

Is it worth $100? No. But sometimes, ya just don't care (;

The 16 Pro Max will NOT fit in the cases for the 14 Pro Max & 15 Pro Max, the 16 Pro Max is noticeably taller and a bit wider.

When I bought cases in preparation for the 16PM I put my 15PM in them and there was a very noticeable gap at the bottom and small give in the side.

Meh. Mine does.

IMO, the Apple silicone case is the current case champ for the 16s right now because they use that sapphire button for the camera control button.

I sure hope the 3rd parties revise their cases to copy Apple's camera control button quickly.

Supcase and Spigen do have their own versions:

Spigen have recently launched a Ultra Hybrid case, with a capacitive camera button.
I would be interesting in understanding how well they have managed to implement that button...
