Hello, just wondering if anyone else could check if they have this issue. I got a 16 Pro and set it up as new like I usually do. I of course switched the Haptic Touch setting (under Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Haptic Touch) to Fast, just like I have it on my old 13 Pro (it feels more like 3D Touch set to fast). The problem is, after unlocking the 16 Pro every time, the very first time I Haptic Touch anything (say an app icon or a notification), the first click is LOUD. The following clicks are back no the normal level. Same goes for the keyboard clicks. The very first keyboard click after an unlock is significantly louder than the following keyboard clicks.

I have tried toggling off keyboard clicks and system haptics, rebooting the phone, and then toggling them back on. Didn't work. I also did another fresh restore and set it up without even signing in and the issue persists.

Does anyone else have this issue? Can anyone try to recreate by setting your Haptic Touch speed to fast? Just curious if this is a widespread issue or isolated to my device before I go in for a genius bar appointment later this week.

This also does not occur when headphones or AirPods are connected. Only with the speaker, with the phone not in silent mode.

Thanks!

16 Pro - I am also getting the randomly louder first keyboard sound. I also have noticed my lock sound is glitching at times.

I have the same problem on my iPhone 13 Pro on iOS 18 but it was also present on iOS 17. Most likely it's a bug but Apple doesn't prioritize it. So it might take some time before it will be fixed.

I think this is an iOS bug. It has been randomly happening to me for years, across many different phones and iOS versions. I’m not sure what causes it as I can’t seem to recreate it with any sort of consistency.

I have the same on my 14pm and 15 pro. It is unfortunate that i have to deal with it for 2 years on various iOS versions. At this point I don’t believe they’ll fix it.

I know exactly what you mean. This happens on my iPhone 13 Pro and on my old iPhone XS. It’s a software issue that Apple simply refuses to fix. It’s very frustrating.

I too have seen this bug on & off over the last few years (iPhone 13 Pro Max, 14 Pro, 15 Pro at least).

It's annoying for the obvious reason, but also because it seems to activate a clarity or sound balance that's difficult to replicate by raising the volume manually.

When I lock my screen manually by pressing the side button on my iPhone, the sound is very loud even though my ringtone and alerts volume are low.
I can’t replicate this bug just like I can’t replicate the clicking sound bug after I unlock the screen. It drives me insane.
