Hi All -

I got my iPhone 16 MP at launch and have battery drain. I have tweaked settings and even thought iOS 18.1 would fix the issue. I can't get through the day without plugging in for a charge. Anyone else having similar issues? Any recommendations?

I kind of want to go to the Apple Store but doubt they would help resolve this battery issue.

First, check your Battery Health (Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging)—if it's under 80%, your battery might be aging.

Also, try turning off Background App Refresh (Settings > General), disable Location Services for apps that don’t need it, and use Low Power Mode when you can

Thanks. Like I said, it's an iPhone 16MP so the battery is new.
I've done all those things at point one or another - still having sever battery drain.

I would also like to add that I had all my apps closed when I went to bed and the battery was at 62% on do not disturb mode. Woke up this morning and battery was down to 52% (10% drop overnight).

What I see here doesn’t look out of line. You are using the phone a lot. And just as I guessed, social media is your biggest offender. Just because you had apps closed overnight doesn’t mean you won’t see any battery drain. To help cut down on the amount of idle drain, you can make sure ‘background app’ refresh is turned off.

Thanks for looking into it. I am also comparing this from upgrading from my iPhone 14 PM. I haven't changed my phone usage. Seems like the iPhone 16 PM drains faster even with the larger battery capacity. I felt like my iPhone 14 MP had a longer battery life between charges.

Guess I shouldn't go to the Genius Bar to run so test as they will probably likely tell me the same as you did?
