iPhone 16 pro max case and camera button

I’ve gotten a 3rd party case and apple’s case for my 16 pro max and the camera button doesn’t work well on either. I can get the gesture control to work with apple’s case. Trying to lightly press, it just takes a picture. Anyone else with feedback on this?

Try Apple cases - they have the copper pin impregnated cover for the camera button.

There was a photo/video YouTube that talked briefly about the camera cover being important to design correctly instead of just a piece of plastic.

I'd try mine on, but my 16 Pro hasn't delivered yet...

You have to press really lightly. If you’re taking a photo, you’re already pressing too hard. It’s subtle.

The Camera Control button on my Apple Silicone case works exactly like the bare phone. Thinking you may have a defective case...

You have to double tap the camera button lightly to get into the other photo modes.
