hello team,
I'm on iOS 26.2 && iOS 26.3 beta v2 [we use both phones, my mom and I - I run beta software] for both 16 Pro Max's
noticed on iOS 18 the phone was perfectly fine when initially the 16 Pro Max came out, never overheated [an improvement over the 15 Pro Max] and had phenomenal battery life. it was perfect
As soon as I was on 26.2/26.3 beta v2, either phone has a lot of unusual stuttering rendering promotion kind of redundant and the phone would heat up very quickly. I do have transparent mode off because personally not a huge fan of the gimmicky Liquid Glass they're promoting of i want it simple. not only that it would overheat on simple apps like FB/IG or even Notes app... which wasn't making sense, Notes doesn't even need data but I noticed the phone would heat up unusually which kind of was the reason I skipped the 14/15 Pro Max && waited for the 16 Pro Max.
anyone run into similar situation? This was on WiFi only, not even on Mobile data [disabled] and signal was very strong. and what to do in cases like this... im not sure if i really want to bring my phone into apple store in case they run some idiot diagnostic and still charge me. the phone is only ~1 year 4 months old...
my 11 Pro Max managed to last from launch day 2019 till 2024 while it heated a bit due to aging hardware/battery its nowhere as close to as bad as the 16 Pro max now which is even hotter, had to run it in cool water for a bit.
