Hello team,

This is my first time with 16 Pro Max, initially when I got the phone it was ultra smooth with promotion but after leaving it on for awhile [not screen on all the time], eventually after a certain period, the pro motion gets jittery [like 40-60hz ish] and touch sensitivity of screen acts weird/funny Even sometimes when in multitasking mode and trying to swipe up it wouldn't swipe up but go straight into the app [complete opposite of what im doing]

This is not an exhaustive list of the issue i noticed... but just one or two to name simply there could be more.

When i turn off and on the phone, then it's like back to normal... smooth/fluid and fast any issues i described above are gone
Anyone experienced this or found something similar? Currently on 18.2

Trying not to be too disappointed [as i got the phone as a gift no money out of my pocket, but coming from 11 Pro Max which was 60Hz only] this seems quite unusual. while the 11 pro max did get sluggy over time [5 years] this is a bit unusual behavior for a recently new phone [3 months in]

I haven't experienced anything like that. If it persist, I would try setting up as new. And if that doesn't solve the problem, contact Apple.
Yea it was perfectly fine until like middle/late dec thats when I started noticing it.
Most likely will try setting it up new and I'll update, once I find time to do indexing/syncing. I did carry it over from my 11 Pro Max as it had all my health data on it which I do use time after time for tracking health behavior and website activity...

would be a bit painful if i had to throw it all away xD but we'll see

iPhone 16 Pro here, having the exact same issue. Currently on iOS 18.3 but had this since i got it on iOS 18.0

same here. iPhone 16 Pro Max iOS 18.4. Doesn’t run as smooth as with 18.3. Jittery and stuttery experience.
Already did a DFU clean install without any backup data. What can I do?

Also did Apple Diagnotics and no error etc show. Maybe it’s something with hardware besides the diagnostic test or can it be a software problem? Phone was running top notch with 18.3

do you notice your phone heats up more under normal/general use like social media scrolling? I remember when I first got it at 18.0 it was ultra cool... like as if the software put it on semi-overdrive lol to make it seem like a 15 Pro Max pre 17.0

I don't notice the jittery as much now around 18.2-18.3. haven't restarted my phone in like 2 months since. that could be a sign so yes clearly im not the only one previously/prior and others were also noticing it.
