I purchased an iPhone 16 Pro Max 256GB in December 2024 from my non-US & non-Europe telco, brand new, never repaired or damaged. 16 hours ago, the following issues occurred:

- Screen is unresponsive even after force restart
- Face ID no longer works
- Volume buttons do not respond to increase/decrease audio volume
- Siri no longer activates or prompts for PIN after restart
- Device feels unusually warm even while idle
- Does not auto connect to Wi-Fi (unable to access any network)
- It promps for a Passcode when I connect for the 1st time a USB-C keyboard to hopefully type in Passcode or Mac to hopefully do iPhone mirroring or iTunes/Finder backup
- I don't have iCloud
- I originally did a Synology NAS backup with previous iPhone 13 Pro Max until RAID0 HDD inside of it failed over 1-5 years ago

The phone is unusable, and I cannot unlock it with Face ID or enter my PIN. Because of this, I cannot back up my data or transfer my eSIM.

I reached out to my telco for a possible replacement they said ~7 days.

I asked if it was possible to do an over the counter physical SIM replacement so I can easily move it to my iPhone 13 Pro Max to the future replacement iPhone 16 Pro Max.

My apologies for the long backstory but I wanted all the pertinent facts so you can hopefully help me.

What I have

- iPhone 16 Pro Max 256GB
- Passcode of iPhone
- Apple ID of iPhone
- USB-C cables & USB-C keyboard
- MBP 16" with macOS 15 Sequoia
- Synology NAS with defective HDD
- iMac 27" with macOS Mojave

My wanted outcome:

- Backup failing iPhone to MBP 16" with macOS 15 Sequoia
- Allow 1st time to connect USB-C keyboard to type in Passcode

Where I'm at we do not have Apple Store but we do have Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP)

Now, I am aware that many here will think I'm a hacker. Pls point to me to a solution that only allows me to do passcode for 1x only.

A restarted iPhone is in its most secure state, there's nothing you can do without being able to enter the PIN to unlock it.

Just shoot me... So 4 months of data down the toilet... :-|

To clarify I have iCloud but the 5GB free plan.

I found an AASP willing to do it. Just need to bring so many documents

- iPhone box
- valid proof of purchase from telco/iPhone dealer/Apple Store
- formal Authorization Letter signed employer, confirming that I am the authorized user of this company-issued iPhone & that I am allowed to act on behalf of the company for backup and repair.
- my company-issued ID
- my government-issued ID

To clarify, I am not requesting any AASP team to back up or access any data themselves. I am only asking if AASP could temporarily connect a test screen just long enough for me to personally input my passcode, so that I can back up the device to my own personal Mac, using my own Apple account, cable, and computer — without involving your team in the data transfer itself.

Note: This service is "opt-in" by the 3rd party Apple Service Center. Not all Service Center are willing to do this. I had to talk to 3 of them & Apple Support before I found the one who was willing to help.
