Hi readers,

I own an iPhone X (256). The front facing camera hasn’t worked for almost a year now and there is a permanent smudge/bleed on the top left of the screen. This means I cannot see what the time is. The battery barely lasts a day too.

I am leaning towards upgrading to the black 16 Pro Max (512). The bigger screen and fantastic battery life are major pluses. Having never owned a Pro Max before, I’d be really appreciative to hear of anyone’s opinions/reviews of the 16 PM.

Thank you for reading. 😊

In short as long as you feel comfortable for its size, you are set for the next 3-5 years with no need to upgrade. iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max will be THE MOST REFINED iPhone ever by far.

I held one in store last week and yes it was considerably bigger than my tiny x but was expecting that. It’s taller for sure but I think one gets used to it. The battery and screen size must compensate it.

Honestly it is hard for any of us to say if the larger size will work for you or not. My friends/family are a 50/50 mix of Pro and Pro Max sizes so it all comes down to preference. For me ever since I tried to 6 Plus size I could never back to the smaller one but I am a gamer and the battery life of the larger sizes are also a huge positive. Apple has a great return policy and you can try it out for 1-2 weeks to see if it works for you.

You’re so on point. I asked my 6 year old son about which one to get. He said, Puppa go for the bigger one! Having had an x for 6-7 years I would like to try the PM. Mainly due to the battery and larger screen. I’ve held the 16 PM and yes it is bigger but there are always compromises which one you end up choosing. The bigger screen and better battery life are game changers for me. I’m looking to upgrade in the next few weeks likely. Go for the 512.

If you have already tried it out in store and are prepared for its size and weight, I say go ahead and treat yourself! :D
It will be a huge upgrade from your X in every way.

I went from the X to the 11 Pro to the 13 PM, then 14 PM, then 16 PM.

I will never go back to a smaller screen.

Its weight and size is what it is. I think it’ll fit in my pockets and can appreciate the bigger screen and excellent battery life. There are always compromises. The 16 Pro I feel I’ll be a little disappointed with the size.

This is really interesting and encouraging to hear as you had the same phone (x) as me, well I still have it but need to upgrade, obviously, and thinking of doing what you have done and opt for the PM.
