I recently bought an iPhone 16e and a clear case that adds MagSafe charging capability to the phone.
I have three wireless (Qi) chargers. The phone charges well on all three chargers and gets warm while charging - quite normal I guess.
However, with the MagSafe-compatible case, the phone stays warm (quite warm!) even after it has been fully charged. Without the case, the phone gets warm while charging and cools down once the battery is fully charged.
My previous phone was an iPhone SE (2nd generation) with a clear case without added MagSafe capability. With this case on, this phone gets a little warm while charging and cools down when the battery is fully charged.
I wonder whether the magnetic case on the iPhone 16e is the reason that the phone does not cool down when fully charged, is the reason that the charger continues to charge the (full) battery - and that this can harm the battery and the phone.
Can someone with an iPhone 16e and a non-magnetic case confirm that the phone cools down on the charger when the battery is fully charged?
Other helpful comments are also appreciated!
