I have a pair of Bluetooth earphones that I have successfully paired with my new iPhone 17. However, when I turn the earphones off and then back on again, they do not automatically reconnect with the iPhone. I have to go into the Bluetooth menu and select the earphones to manually reconnect to them. Sometimes, it even fails reconnection when I manually do it and I have to try again to get them to reconnect. These exact same earphones would automatically reconnect to my iPhone 16 when I turned them on.

I thought it might be because the earphones had some stale info in its list of previously connected devices, so I force reset them with button presses as specified in the earphone manual. I then repaired with the iPhone 17, but same thing, they will not automatically reconnect.

I then did one more test with an older iPhone 12: Unpaired them from my iPhone 17, reset the earphones, paired them with the iPhone 12. After performing those steps, I turned off and on the earphones and they automatically reconnected to the iPhone 12 without intervention.

So everything is pointing to something different about the iPhone 17. Anyone have any clues on how to make the earphones automatically reconnect to my iPhone 17 once they're paired with it?
