Hello Guys, please give me advice. Is it worth to pick 17 pro or 17 after 13 pro? Why, mainly because of USB-C, and i hope better camera (photo video) and battery. IS it worth to pay more for PRO 17 version? If not how big difference i will notice vs 13 pro with battery and cameras? Thank You very much for help. If the topic should be in different place, please do not remove it just move to the correct one:)

What additional pluses may 17 pro give me vs 17?
As i saw some opinions on 17 model the battery does not look very good (or i am wrong?).

I'm going from a 15 Pro to a 17, seems most of the differences are on the camera side which isn't a big thing for me.

I’m contemplating the same question. My 13P is still at 84% battery health but battery life is way down since installing iOS 26 last week. There’s a lot to like about the 17, but I usually keep my phone for at least 3 years so I’m leaning toward the Pro for the better camera and more RAM. Otherwise I don’t see much meaningful difference.

I upgraded from an iPhone 15 Pro to the iPhone 17. With many "Pro" features being filtered down to the base model, the $300 price jump isn't worth it this year. I'll take the cost and weight savings, gladly giving up additional camera zoom and faster USB speeds (who plugs in anyways?).

If you are okay with not having the 4x/8x telephoto lens, I would go with a regular 17. Personally, I plug my phone in a lot to offload photos, and I still update using Apple Devices for every major update so I have a local backup in case something goes wrong. So I really need the USB 3.0 speeds. Also, if you are a content creator you have to have a Pro so you can record video to an external SSD. Otherwise, get a regular phone.

Another 15 Pro to base 17 switcher here. With the base model getting the same display as the Pro and starting at 256GB of storage, I decided to save myself $300 (plus tax).

I don’t game or do sustained heavy tasks on my iPhone to warrant the vapor cooling stuff, 8GB RAM has served me well on the 15 Pro (plus I don’t use Apple Intelligence), the difference in battery life is negligible when the base 17 already gets pretty decent battery, and any data I transfer is done wirelessly so USB speeds don’t matter to me. The telephoto lens does have its utility but I’ll try to see its absence it as an excuse to use my actual camera more.

Hmm do i need 4x/8x photo lens, what exactly it is? Zoom in which i did not have in 13 pro? Does it work well? It is useful when i want to make photos of documents or small things like bilon? To be honest even on MacBook i can not normally work with usb pens/drives as in windows systems - it always has problems with getting disks working - i hate in on Mac’s. BUT i am also not using usb in my phone, there is no option to do that normally. If i would be a creator I would go for android devices to normally use usb transfer.
SO considering what will be an update from 13 pro? What is the difference with battery 17 vs 17 pro and video/photo - is it better to wait next year to swap it or not?

If you don't even know what a zoom lens is just get the normal 17

This is why i sam asking man… is this zoom in during photos or micro option? I use ip13 pro photo by default, sometimes switch between defsault options. It does not mean, the quality of normal 13 would be the same OK for me.

If You mean this -
- it is much advanced than in IP13 pro and would be awesome to have it.

You are really asking what a zoom is in a camera?
In that case just keep your 13pro
You know, i do not use “photo lens” words in my language so i asked what is it going about… :D Simple question it is or is is not about zoom in - You could just answer and not spam.

Yep it’s about zooming in. The third camera is set to a 4x zoom, it provides a much higher quality zoom over doing it digitally

I answered. Imho the only thing what makes sense if you keep your 13 as the camera system is nothing you worry about, since you not even are aware that your 13 already has a 3x zoom.
Buy a new battery and you are good for another 3 years

Hmm i am using it very often, to be honest. What now? How can i feel camera on 17 model comparing it to 17 pro?

You know what is sad, that android phones which costs 3x less than normal 17 has it… of course the camera is not as good on them, but 3x zoom as optical one is on spot. If not apple ecosystem (and in general i like their products) i would go back to win+android.
I will try to buy 17pro i think, when the price goes a little down maybe.

Why would the price go down? Are you talking about purchasing a certified refurb?

Hmm more logic option is to wait until 18 appears to be honest hehe:) But after 4-5 months sometimes some shops will have it a little lower for a moment or two. In general, iphone 17 has also zoom but only x2. I usually use this option to make photos of my children and later print some of them. That is why i prefer pro model.
Also my ip13pro battery has 79% now but looking on usnc port it is nosense to change it now for one year only, so ill try to use it next year and go 17 pro or 18/18pro next year probably.
To be honest as my last iphone i prefer to have better model for the next 5-6 years so 12 gb ram seems to be better option for me specially with better camera. Also 512gb would be better option for next years. But not for this price.
