iPhone 17 Pro iPhone 17 Pro models look pretty bad (iPhone Air is the one for me)

The 17 pro models don't impress me both on features and looks (as a current pro user).

Firstly it's noticeably thicker and the back just looks awful - very unapple like. They shouldn't have bulked it up so much.

In terms of the features there's nothing that stands out. The vapor chamber cooling could be useful for a very small amount of users doing heavy processing on their phones.

It will be the first time ever I'm not upgrading to a pro model. I'll miss some of the pro features, but I'll take the thinness of the air and still get most of the features. I thought the air would be a gimped phone but I was surprised to see it has a lot of the pro features so I'll get it.


The winner is iPhone 17 - a lot more pro features for the base price.

The 17 Pro looks pretty great to me. That said, if I were in the market for a new phone this year, I'd get the regular 17. It has gotten good enough to not warrant the substantial extra cost of the Pro, for me anyway. The 17 Air is the one I would definitely not yet. It's the compromised high fashion version of the iPhone. It will eventually become great (beyond emotional appeal), but I'd skip the first couple models.

The 8x camera zoom is impressive. It's also fine tuned over years of fine tuning. It's like buying the last model of a car model before the refresh. Vapor cooling means you can game for long periods and it doesn't throttle.

I agree. I don't know what people are whining about. I'm either doing blue or silver.

Pro/Max has impressive features. Incredible battery life and cameras.

The only downside is the price. And the orange color - makes it look like a construction worker's emergency phone. But picking silver (timeless color) resolves that issue.

Lol, might have picked up orange back when I was still working in the field. Would probably go well with the orange vest and hard hat. Granted, I probably would've gotten an Otterbox for it so only some edges would be visible.

I dislike the white rectangle on the silver Pro but at least that part is easily hidden by a case.
