iPhone 1G and 3G home buttons interchangeable?

I'm in the process of restoring an iPhone 3G and just noticed that the home button is missing. I have an iPhone 2G laying around with a cracked screen and I was wondering if the two home buttons were interchangeable?

Try restoring from DFU Mode :D

Anyways... no, the buttons are not the same. Sorry.
