iPhone (1st Gen - 2.0) constant log on to router

Hi,

I have a 1st Gen iPhone and have updated to 2.0 software..

I have only my .mac account on the phone. Push is on for con/cal/mail.

To start with, it all worked well. Now Cal & Contacts work but not mail.

I have noticed on my router at home that the phone is logging on at irregular intivals...sometimes 8 minutes then 23 and the 45, but not in any order.

Any idears???
