iPhone 1st Gen User Looking To Purchase 2nd Gen

Am I going to have to sign up for another two years if I purchase the second gen iPhone? I activated my 1st gen last July so my contract is only going to be a year through...has anyone heard anything on this?

No one knows except some Apple and AT&T execs.

As long as I get a 16GB iPhone for a good price, I don't care about being with AT&T for 2 years.
