Am I the only one having problems with the iPhone 2.0 firmware on my first gen iPhone??? Here is a list of my problems, any reccomendations would be welcome. I have tried turning it off and on and even re-loading the firmware (which is exactly the same as loading it the first time, so it took a long time to load!)
1. Google maps - I search for something 'apple store' and then get directions and it routes me to the city/zip code of the store, but not the actuall address. I have to manually put in the address to get accurate directions.
2. scrolling problems - scrolling either does not work or jumps (not a smooth scroll) this happens in most applications.
3. typing - I became pretty efficient at typing on the iPhone, but with this release the auto-correct selects a word when i am still typing (and did not hit space) and the typing will often 'enlarge' one letter then type another.
4. selecting/tapping - the screen just sometimes does not respond at all, other times i will tap towards the middle of the screen and then the right hand corner will be pressed (example: the send button of an e-mail was pressed when all i was trying to do was move the cursor to the middle of the e-mail).
Looking at the last 3 problems it seems something is wrong with the touch screen. I blame it on the firmware, because all of these problems started when I updated the firmware. So are other people having similar problems? or does it just sound like my touchscreen is going out and needs to be replaced?
