Man its almost unusable. Took me like 5 minutes to type out a text message cause of the response time from me hitting each letter.

For what its worth, I am using the 1st Gen iPhone.

Anyone else getting this... and if so how do I fix it?

congratulations on your Razr. Oops iPhone. There's a really cool feature on Internet forums called search.

In the mean time, open the SMS app, then hold the home button until the app closes. Reopen the app, lag should be gone, till it starts again.

My iPhone that I upgraded to 2.0 is working just as well as my 3G. Both are fast and 0 lag.

You can also restore and sync your iPhone as a new phone.

You know when you make a new thread, there is a button that says "Check to see if this has been posted." I clicked that button, No results found. Now I can only imagine how many thread hits I would get with the words Slow, iPhone, 2.0, Software.

Anyways, I've only downloaded 1 Application, which is not running. I have never experience this lag before, but will try what was mentioned. It is very reminiscent of using an 8125/8525 with tons of applications open.

The so-called "lag" is a known issue that affects the 2.0 firmware so it can appear on original iPhones upgraded to 2.0 and new iPhone3G's. Apple is aware the problem so hopefully a fix will be out sooner rather than later.

Restoring your iPhone in iTunes to the slightly newer 5A347 build of firmware 2.0 can help in some situations.

My 1st gen iPhone is not slow at all, but I installed it as a new phone.
Possibly restoring settings and data makes it slow?

It's not just you...there is a HUGE amount of feedback that the 2.0 software is buggy, slow, etc. Love my iPhone, but the 2.0 firmware is not ready for prime time. Of course I went through some of this with the 1.0 version of the software. Apple will get it fixed in the not too distant future (I hope).
