iPhone 2G activating issues.

I currently use an iPhone 4 but was planning on using my iPhone 2G for a couple of days. I just finished restoring it but now it is asking me to type in my Social Security number and account information to "Activate it with AT&T" I don't want it to change my account information or renew my contract. Will typing in my information do any of that? If so how can I activate it without jailbreaking?
