Hi,

Before i get into my confusing question thats killing me inside :p i would like to say I'm happy to be part of the mac rumors community and i don't intend to neglect the forum once i have found my answer.

Anyway i bought a faulty iPhone 2g from eBay for £40 / $55ish and it had a broken screen and needed a battery. Heres a link to the listing if your interested. I bought the digitizer and the LCD fused together and installed successfully and i tested it by plugging the data lead in (no battery was installed at this time. The apple logo appeared and after 10 secs switched off, i figured that this was because there was no battery installed. I continued to solder the battery on successfully i think, the phone powered up ok and i saw the slide to unlock i thought great! I then tried to unlock it and the frickin digitizer has come loose, i undid the flex cable that connects the board to the dock connector and MIC and speaker ect and had some trouble disconnecting it. I got it off eventually but in doing so the screen was changing colors while i was doing it. (as if something was loose, obviously it was the cable i was tampering with) I connected the digitizer back up and continued the screw the board down with everything connected. ( the battery has been connected all the way ) This is when the trouble started :( The phone now wont boot at all with the battery soldered on, i know it doesn't boot without it but it reaches the apple logo.

Please help guys, is it the battery screwed? I have orderd another incase?

THANK! YOU! :apple:
