iphone2g...this is my spare iphone..it was working completely fine..without any problems. I had left it unattended for few days. The battery drained out and it switched off. Today when i put it to charge it came on but the touchscreen is not responding at all...anywhere on the screen. I reset it and it shows a black screen with all bios code loading...similar to the bluescreen of death we get on xp machines...the homescreen comes on but the touch is still unresponsive. Id done the reset / restore and all but this doesnt work. Is this a known issue?

I wonder if thr is something wrong with the hardware coz it was working fine til now and nothing major like falling in water/dropping on the floor happened either.

Please guide me!

It looks like your SOL. If it's non responsive to iTunes or anything of the sort, I really don't know what to do.

I do have a first gen, 3g and 3gs sitting around and if one of them did what you are describing, I would schedule a genius bar appointment for my current iPhone on a time that isn't too busy or just walk into the store and see what anyone can do for you. Don't talk from the approach that you want Apple to fix the problem, because you will immediately be shut down. Instead, ask them if they have any idea what is going on and what you may try on your own to get things going again. They may be willing to share some information with you or possibly have a tool to get the devise to be responsive again... I really don't know. This is just what I would do in that situation.

Good luck.
