iPhone 2G dock to use for iPhone 4?

For those who still have an iPhone 2G dock, have you tried it with your iPhone 4? I have yet to dig it out of storage.

Question, kinda stupid though. Will it short out my iPhone? Are all the docks the same? I'm not really interested in plunking down $30 for a dock, in which will probably change when the next iPhone rolls around.

I don't it should matter. I've been using my IP4 with an iPod Photo dock that I've had for a few years. I just popped off the top plastic piece. Try searching the forums for a dock mod post. It had some good ideas in it.

YES! It works, I was going to buy an iPhone 4 dock on opening day with my phone but they ran out, good thing though, cause i tried it with my 2G dock and it worked just fine!

Yeah, it works fine on the 2G dock, but it's not an absolute perfect fit or anything, so you should be a little careful when placing it inside.

The phone just barely fits, so it won't fit with a bumper or I would assume with most cases.
