iPhone 2G does not receive calls/texts

I still have no resolution. My iPhone 2G will not receive a call or text unless I actually open up the phone and then see the missed call. It won't actually ring while in standby! Anybody have any clue?? Thanks.

Have you restarted the phone, reset the network settings, restored the phone?

Yes I have. Right now it's running 3.0 and jbed/unlocked. Should I downgrade to 2.0, where some people feel the problem is occurring, or update to 3.1 and then reunlock and JB?? Thanks for the response.
