Hi there guys,

I gave my iphone to be updated to a 'friend' and now I am having problems in general, like lock downs during dialing and conversations.

I wanna do the best I can to first revert back the phone to original, possibly with its baseband, and then take the phone firmware to jailbreak, unlock use it.

its actually working with a different GSM in overseas, so I am assuming it is Unlocked however I am not sure if its Jailbroken,

my dream, mission is to get it back to best iphone 2g jailbroken baseband/firmware, that I would need your suggestions in terms of the best possible version

second I would need somehow what to do from scratch to take this phone all the way back from 3.1.3 to that suggested version.

really here to learn and understand your suggestions, be aware that I haven't yet connected my iphone to any itunes. I am worried something bad is gonna happen if I do something like that without knowing the extend of it.

thanks in advance, I hope I can get some real suggestions!

applejuiced

thank you for your quick reply, I use windows so I am looking at the windows link.

one quick question, instead of keeping the 3.1.3
can I somehow revert back to a version 2 firmware version, and still use the phone unlocked/jailbroken etc?

what do you reckon?

-thanks

applejuiced so instead of the 3.1.3 file on your initial reply, I just use whatever I want from the firmware and do the same procedure? (I would use 3.1.2 file while doing this process if I wanna downgrade)

here is my question

I wanna erase everything on it, because for some reason after my friend did what he did with it, capacity only comes up 7.1 gb, and available space 6.8 before when it was firmware 1.1.3 it was available space 7.2 gb.

I just wanna erase every single thing that he did and start jailbroken unlocked fresh if you know what I mean,

if its more stable should I use an older firmware from that list?

like 2.2.1

which firmware would you personally reckon for this old iphone 2g?
