Ok i recentley bought an iphone 2G from a friend who had it unlocked and used it on T-mobile. Well i have AT&T and when i put my sim card in it, it works perfectly fine. I have tried to add the phone data package online but it kept giving me an error everytime. I called the support center and she said it does not show that i have an iphone on my account but when i log in onine it shows that i do. She said that i have get a new sim card because the one i previously had does not work with the iphone and that it has to be properly activated through itunes. Does this sound right?

because if it was not activated before then why is it working?

and if i need a new sim card why is my sim card now working fine?

any answers to these questions would be very much appreciated

i believe the reason why it's working is because the phone is unlocked so any sim you put in it, would automatically work. you would need to restore phone to original settings then activate it through itunes and follow the steps from there.
