I have a iPhone 2g and replaced the battery myself. The iPhone worked until the battery had charge but it fails to recharge. I tried connecting to my mac and with new cables, it doesnt seem to charge.

Could it be due to a cheap battery ? is there anyway to test if my iphones charging circuit is working fine ?

thanks

My assumption would be that you are good at soldering and haven't damaged anything with too much heat. Also, the assumption is that the dock connector is good and you haven't dislodged the dock ribbon cable i.e. you haven't taken the double stacked circuit board out. I have dealt with alot of 2G phones and they aren't the easiest to fix but with a bit of work and care, I have managed to do alot of complicated fixes as part of my business.
