iPhone 2G unlocked does not receive phone calls until opened.

An iPhone 2G does not receive phone calls until actually unlocked and the missed call is seen. Also, text messages are not always received or may be received hours later. Any ideas why? 3 month old phone.. Thanks a lot.

faulty board, I recall seeing quite a few of these issues on boards with 2g, and only true fix was a replacement comms board/phone iirc, was drawing too much power or something, and not working when phone is in sleep mode as a result. More to question, where did you get a new 2g 3 months ago?

He could have swapped it out at the Apple Store.
