Iphone 2g unlocked on Tmobile

Okay I'm sure someone can help me out here because I'm a bit new to the game. So let me break it down for you....

I recently bought a 2G iphone for my girlfriend, I unlocked it with redsn0w so she can use it for Tmobile. My question is how do you get the contacts to transfer over from her SIM card and what about the Fav 5 thing, that should still work right?

It's running on 3.0 software if that helps at all...

To get the contacts onto your phone go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Import Sim Contacts. You have to change the Fave 5 on her My T-Mobile account on T-Mobile's website, she can't change them on the actual phone.

Okay that sounds rather simple. Yeah she popped in her sim card last night into the phone, she was so excited then she was like "where's my contacts?" I assumed that they uploaded automatically...
