iPhone 2G user string?

Is there a method for faking iTunes into thinking that the iPhone 4 is an iPhone 2G? Reason i ask is because it can make it easy to take advantage of the loop hole to get unlimited data for 30$. Just a thought. Im fairly proficient with the Linux OS and the structure of the iPhone, but i cant seem to find a tool that would allow me to configure the USB Device configuration file.

I don't think what you want can be done. I once tinkered with my 1G iPod Touch and tried to get iTunes to see it as a 3G iPod Touch. I never got it to work.
