Hi, i have been told that unlocking an iphone 2g on Vodafone Uk incurs data charges from Vodafone even if an edge connection has not been set up. Is there any truth to this? Anybody have an iphone 2g unlocked to Vodafone UK?

No.

Simply unlocking the iPhone won't cost you anything.
