iPhone 2g voicemail notification!

After I checked the 7 voicemails on my iphone......the phone is still showing that I have 7 voicemails waiting. It's not erasing after being checked. What do I need to do here? Thanks!

Reboot the phone? Toggle Airplane mode?

Try doing a hard reboot, (hold the lock/home buttons until the phone restarts) hopefully that might work. So you call your VM and it doesn't say/show any new messages?

Tried that as well....very strange! When I call voicemail, I don't have any messages.
