I have a 16GB iPhone 2G I bought 2 months before the 3G launch and last week the WiFi started crapping out. It would start, connect to a network but within 5 seconds it'd drop out, connect, then drop out again. And do this "forever".
Since I'm a developer, Xcode allows me to check out the system logs for the device and basically it's spitting some junk after it connects and then simply says "restarting WiFi firmware" and sometimes complains about not being able to verify the WiFi chip firmware checksum (I can copy/paste the log here if you guys want). Basically I think the WiFi hardware went bust.
Here's my question:
My iPhone is unnofficially unlocked (I live in Brazil). If I take it to Apple in the USA (going this week to CA), will they offer me service on it? (It would be out of warranty anyway)
