Hey, I used to have an iphone 2g unlocked/jailbroken with redsn0w and didnt pay any data on it. Recently it broke and apple replaced it for a fee, we activated it in store as required by law, then hiked over to the ATT store, and canceled the data from my plan.

The guys at the ATT store hinted I needed to jailbreak the iphone to keep att from doing a smart phone scan and adding a plan without my permission.

I attempted to unlock the phone with redsn0w/blackra1n/whited00r and sn0wbreeze, with no success the thing is somehow resistant to unlocks.

Ones that use iTunes it gets to preparing iphone to restore and then no further, yet it can restore with the legit 3.1.3. Others the iphone just goes navy blue for a period of time then 10-30minutes later returns to its activated non-unlocked non jailbroken state.

What should I do? do i have to pay for a pro unlocking program since the others are too old for apples newer security measures? Or do you think I can continue with a "data block" that stops me from using any data and avoid the smart phone sweeps that attach data plans to unsuspecting contracts?

Thanks guys
