Notes sycing was one of the features I was looking forward to. However at this point I can't get it to sync notes.
I have found the appropriate section in iTunes 8.2 and checked "Sync Notes" applied and re-synced my iphone. But unfortunately there was no data syncing, either on my iPhone or under notes in Mail. There is an option to "Replace information on iphone" but I dont want to do that, because I will loose a lot info.

Has anyone got this feature to work properly?
thanks

Yeah it works fine for me. It took me a while to figure out where the notes were actually syncing. But then I found out it was in the Apple Mail app.

Mine syncs. On Mail it shows up on "On My Mac".

Under Mail preferences > Composing, I select Create Notes & ToDos On My Mac. Because MobileMe doesn't support it yet properly. If you select something other than that your notes show up as email. Crazy.

When I did this my notes created on the iPhone in Notes now show up on my desktop Mail Notes > Reminders > On My Mac, after I sync with iTunes.

When I create Notes in Mail it then syncs back to the iPhone Notes after an iTunes sync.

Too bad OTA doesn't work yet for this or MobileMe supporting it properly.

on windows the only thing you can sync notes with is microsoft outlook. bad luck for the people that dont have it, or choose to use another program like me.

I had the devil of a time finding my notes in Mac Mail, even though I knew they were supposed to be there. Now I feel a little dumb about it, but I posted my findings in another thread, here, in case it helps someone else who has been rummaging around to find them.

shouldn't that be mandatory? ;\

i need notes to sync... instead of sending myself emails.

argh.

Did Apple every say this would be supported through MobileMe?
If so, that'll be awesome.

It should. It should not be a hard sync through iTunes only since they built this Notes & ToDo's in Mail also in OSX. But on the iPhone it has a standalone Notes app.

Why Apple didn't incorporate Notes in iPhone mail to behave like Notes in OSX Mail is confusing and no one at Apple has explained why.

Note syncing works...

...But Apple could have done a better job.

If you create a note in Mail - under "on my mac"
The note will sync with the iPhone when it is docked and synced.

If you create a note in Mail under "mobile me"
The note will not sync.
However if you go to iPhone mail - open the mobile me account and look in Notes - the note is there - regardless of any syncing.

It's odd that over the air syncing has not been implemented.

Where do they get synched to in Outlook? I haven't had time to download 3.0 yet, but would like to know beforehand. Thanks! :)

For the record, I had the same issue as the OP with 3.0, but after restarting both mail and iTunes, my notes synced back to mail.

I have just upgraded to 3.0, and I have Outlook for Windows. It does NOT sync notes. No matter what I do. It pretends to, but nothing syncs.
